Hello spring, I've missed you!

It's amazing how much RBD knows me so well. This weekend we were outside in our yard and he tells me to look at our tree and in our garden (knowing that whatever I'm about to see is going to make me happy). Well....
Flowers on our tree
Some sort of flower starting to grow in our garden :)

I made a point to spend the rest of the day outside to embrace all things spring. RBD and I walked into town  to check out the sidewalk sales and then decided to try a cupcake from this cute cupcake shop called Pearl's Cupcakes (this was really for me but I think he enjoyed it). Check it out:

I chose the Cookies & Cream Cupcake for us to share

YUM!

Then, to make my day of spring complete, I got a mani/pedi with a fabulous spring-like color.

It looks red but it's really a watermelon-esc color!

Cocktails anyone?!

Since moving to Richmond I've meet some amazing friends who seem to have the same mind set as me.... Branch out, meet new people and have fun doing it! Well, last night was a great example of why KKW and LB are my two favorite ladies here in Richmond - COCKTAIL CLUB! Once a month a group of us will get together, theme the night and enjoy cocktails with new and old faces. Who could ask for a better night to look forward to!

Wish List Wednesday

My payday pick of the week would have to be my dear friend Grant's cutting board collection. I'm dying to order one now but I thought it might be to soon to get my "D" monogrammed cutting board this early before our wedding. BUT...it's in my wish list for this summer!

Don't you love the cleat handles and the detailing of the wood!

Good Friends, Good Food, Good Wine - GOOD TIMES!

This weekend with my sister and TPT was such blast. We toured around Richmond in the 75 degree weather, had dinner with friends and went to three fabulous winerys! All in all, we couldn't have asked for a better weekend to all hang out and bond.

HLT and TPT - CUTE

The best part is...we didn't even plan to wear the same shirt haha (one and the same)

 Men and there whiskey!!

The Girls - I felt left out by not wearing pink so I ordered a pink drink to be festive.

The 21 wines we tried - ugh that was an overwhelming list to get through -WE LOVED THEM ALL

Ready, Set, DRINK!

Fun weekend ahead!

In just a few hours I'll be heading to the airport to pick up my sister and her hubby for their first trip down to Richmond. I haven't had a weekend get away with my sister in years, so I'm really excited to hang out with her (and TPT). The best part about TPT and I hanging out is that we always seem to gang up on my sister about her little quarks. She's such a good sport but I can understand how she might get a little annoyed. Let's just hope there aren't any sisterly cat fights this weekend - haha jk. Ohhh, I'm getting excited!!!

Wish List Wednesday and then some...

RBD really knows how to make me smile. After a week of complaining on how sore my body was from running, he surprised me with the best gift EVER...

A Red Door Signature Massage!!!

This was a real treat since I always want a massage and now I have one. Thanks RBD :)

Virginia is for Lovers

This weekend was such a treat. RBD, Bayley and I took a little adventure to the coast and on our way back we went to this amazing winery in New Kent, VA. We decided to take a tour to learn more about the history of  their wine but what we ended up learning about (and loved it) was the history behind the actual making of the building.

The winery is built from materials reclaimed from buildings and structures well over a century old. Beautiful, old heart-pine trusses were reclaimed from a 1901 Southern Railroad Depot that was located in the Shockoe Bottom area of Richmond, Virginia. The Heart Pine structural timbers and floor timbers were recovered from an old Connecticut warehouse that was constructed in 1852. The stunning exterior facade of the winery was achieved using handmade, pre-Civil War bricks, merged with siding and roof shingles which were milled from Cypress logs that had been submerged in North Florida Rivers for over one-hundred years. Reprocessed copper bedecks the porch roofs. The result is an inviting and warm structure that reflects the quality wines produced within.

After our history lesson we went right down to business and started the wine tasting...
Bottoms up!

After such an exciting adventure we were all exhausted from our day out in VA. The moment we got home we were all ready to hit the pillow - especially Bayley...

Ahhhh!

TGIF!

This week can't come to an end fast enough. After 4 days of running on a tread mill my body pretty much hates me (and I hate it). So, this weekend I'm just going to relax and hang out with my two favorite people...

RBD and BAYLEY!

Love at first sight

It's amazing how excited I get when I see something I MUST HAVE.
I saw these cute canvas bags online and I thought O.M.G how cute would this be as a bridesmaid gift!?

Lets just cross our fingers that they're affordable. To be continued...

Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy!

I finally signed up for the gym in hopes that I can get back in shape. This winter has made me nothing but lazy so I was really happy when RBD signed me up for the 10K run in April.

Last night was the first time, in awhile, that I ran 2 miles and I almost cried when I saw the time. Lets cross our fingers my 3 mile run tonight won't kill me. Here is my first week of training - wish me luck!

Week 1

·                                Monday - Run 2 miles easy. Run at an easy “conversational” pace.

·                                 Tuesday - Run 3 miles easy. Run at an easy pace

·                                 Wednesday - Rest or cross train. Rest or engage in a non-running activity.

·                                 Thursday - Run 2 miles easy.

·                                 Friday - Run 3 miles easy.

·                                 Saturday - Run 3.25 miles easy.

·                                 Sunday - Rest. Rest is an important part of any training program.

Comfort Food

Last night we had a group dinner at this fantastic restaurant called, Comfort. I can obviously see why everyone raves over their food and why people in the south enjoy deep fried EVERYTHING!

I loved the mason jar water glasses

And the Mac & Cheese was TO DIE FOR!

Daily Dose

It was a real struggle to wake up this morning with all the fog in the air and the crisp, cold breeze hitting my face as I let the dog out. So, in order for me to get my day started on the right foot, I made my way to Starbucks to get my Tall, Skinny Vanilla Latte. While I was standing in line the lady at the register asked me if I wanted to take a minute to fill out a survey. Usually, I'm the one who is in to much of a rush to spare a minute but today I just felt like doing it. WELL....I ended up getting today's coffee for free and my next coffee on the house as well! It's amazing how little things like this make my day. Although, I can't tell if this was a sign for me to slow down in life and learn to smell the roses more...hmmm.
My next coffee is FREE!
